The Orlova is full length faux fur in a high, dense pile that photographs like the real thing and shrugs off a January drizzle as though it were never invited. The shawl collar is generous enough to disappear into; the line owes more to 1934 than to this morning. Worn open over evening silk or belted against a cold pavement, it does what a great coat has always done. It enters the room half a second before you do.
